"Range is limited only by creativity."

I quoted this from Shade Gomez during Friday's class. As soon as he said this, I immediately wrote it down. I found this statement extremely interesting, as well as his entire presentation.

I found the way in which he integrates technology into his classroom is phenomenal! It was really great to see first hand how this technology is actually put into the classroom. Honestly, at first it was hard for me to picture this technology being used in an everyday classroom. I kept thinking back to the way I was taught, in a normal classroom, with loads of handouts and notes written on the blackboard, with occasional classes held in the computer lab (and by occasional, I mean about 5-7 times a YEAR!). It was very encouraging to see it working FIRST HAND.

I found it very interesting that Shdae encouraged getting familiar with both Macs and PC's. This will definitely be a challenge for me. I have always been a PC girl, who had even found working the MAC lab for class to be difficult at times. I really want to make it a goal of mine to learn how to use Mac's with ease! I think it could greatly help in my classroom!

I absolutely loved when he showed his students projects to us. There was the usual powerpoint presentation (which Shade called "the old standby" which I found interesting) as well as pictures of past projects and, who could forget, the HAMLET SONG! I was motivated by his ideas and words of wisdom.

I am going to end this post with some words from Shade. He said not to worry about reading/writing/speaking in the classroom, because they will automatically be practicing that in everything they do. He said to focus on the 5th literacy, demonstration incorporating technology in presentations. I found this very interesting. What do you think?
